Argentina Celebrates Record Tourism Success During Long Weekend

The National Government stated that the recent long weekend, which lasted four days for many, was 'successful'. Tourism and Environment Secretary Daniel Scioli provided figures showing that certain coastal resorts were at 'full capacity': Pinamar at 94% and Cariló at 98%. According to information accessed by the Argentine News Agency, last month, Scioli participated in an event organized with 'more than 60 public, private, and academic sector leaders' aimed at 'coordinating actions' for this long weekend and even for the 2025/2026 summer season. Key topics such as 'financing, promotion, and connectivity' were discussed. 'In Pinamar, alongside Mayor Juan Ibarguren, we supported the great tourist movement the city is experiencing this long weekend, with beaches and spaces full of people,' the Secretary of Tourism indicated from his social networks. Along the same lines, he noted that the 'success' of these days 'confirms' that Pinamar is 'consolidating itself as one of the most chosen destinations' and promises an 'excellent summer season'. Furthermore, he indicated that the path chosen by a large part of the citizenry in the recent elections 'has been key' to generating a climate of 'predictability' that is now 'reflected in the growth' of tourism and economic activity, under the 'leadership' of President Javier Milei. Likewise, the Secretary of Communication and Media, Javier Lanari, also joined this news, stating that 'all main tourist destinations' achieved occupancy levels 'between 80% and 100%'. 'It's been a long time since we've seen such a successful XXL weekend. Everything is packed with people: restaurants, bars, theaters, etc.'
